Mandy Whitlock Inspires Thespians at Northside ISD's Brandeis High

Mandy Whitlock lights the theater with her smile as she talks about her 13 years in teaching students how to “act” and MUCH more. As the theater teacher and Fine Arts Coordinator for Brandeis High School, she inspires 280 technical theater students and 140 drama students with her enthusiasm.

“I always felt most fulfilled in teaching. I had a wonderful experience at drama camp when I helped another student learn her lines and perform confidently,” Ms. Whitlock explained. "I knew what I wanted to do."

She says that her goal for each student is to learn to express himself or herself well and know that, with hard work, anything is within grasp. “They need to realize that their mind, body and voice are the most powerful tools they have,” she explains.

Her students are her greatest tribute, using their tools well! In interviews, they expressed themselves eloquently.
