Robert Warden Shares the World at Lackland ISD Robert Warden Picture

Robert Warden didn't take the usual path to becoming a teacher; his life experiences have shaped the educator he's become. Warden worked 22 years with the Los Angeles Police Department, retiring as a police sergeant, where he worked on everything from the gang unit to helping implement the first D.A.R.E. program.

In 1995, Warden traded in his badge for a career as a teacher with Lackland I.S.D. at Stacey Jr./Sr. High School, where he teaches high school history, geography and social studies. Warden finds teaching extremely rewarding; he gets to experience the joy of seeing his students grow and learn.

"The light bulb goes off and you know you've actually done something that was important to somebody. You make a difference," said Warden

And what a difference he's made to so many students who have passed through his classroom.
